Repurposing carpark spaces within the Melbourne CBD for the future temporal city of vertical building.

This project explores the re-purposing of the use and functionality on-street carparking spots in terms of its typological nature. The formal outcome is explored through the combination of specific block-to-block field conditions which focuses on education and entertainment mainly. The resulting factor would present structural hierarchy through each CBD block applied in order to generate aggregations for a future city to build vertically due to limited land space available for new extensions. The city’s future would depend on the sprouting and essential programs needed for the post-pandemic scenario where office and apartment buildings are seen as non-essential structures for the future growth.
